As I have said to you recently over the last few days, it would seem that everything is particularly challenging right now and that I am having to work harder not to give in to worry, fear, etc
So I have been doing a lot of praying and reading to keep myself on track and I wanted to share something with you that I found this morning in a book by Florence Scovel Shinn called “The Magic Path of Intuition”…in the 8th chapter she talks about how ‘every test is a purification process and that when we are unmoved by the tests we will no longer attract them’. I found this very insightful because even though I have been studying spiritual and success principles for a long, long time there are still some seeming circumstances that can really drop me to my knees and to me that means I still have work to do. True mastery comes when you cannot be moved by anything, when no outside element can shake your equilibrium and to get to that place takes work and the ability to discipline your mind. You have to be vigilant with your thoughts and when fearful, crazy, worried thoughts come into your mind you must push them aside and replace them with their opposite. This takes practice and then more practice and then still even more practice…I have been doing this work for 36 years now and these last few weeks I have had to really work with myself daily to keep my thoughts focused on what works.
Start working on not letting appearances rock your inner boat, start replacing one fear-based thought for one positive one…it’s a practice and will take time, however this practice will change your whole life and return you to your own power—so start today, just replace a thought for a thought…xoxoxo
And here is the link to Florence’s book for anyone that is interested…
Be Kind. It’s time to take the ‘judgy’ pants off…time to stop being impatient with people, time to stop being critical of yourself and others…time to start lifting the fallen and healing the broken.
As I have said over the past two days, this time of year is soooo difficult for some people and has challenges for all of us because everything is in a heighted state. It is so easy to lose your temper at someone or become annoyed with their behavior…yet do you realize that they are honestly doing the best that they can for who they are in the moment? We never, ever know what people are going through and we have no right to pass judgement on the brief part of them that reveals itself in our world, it is our job to be KIND, to bring a blessing, to be a blessing…
People will respond to kindness and you never know the difference that you could make for someone by simply being kind. Today I went to the Price Chopper here in Vermont, where I live…it’s a grocery store. The cashier that checked me out was grim looking and somewhat snappy, so I just started asking her how she was today and how her Thanksgiving was etc. My first instinct was to withdraw when she seemed short, however I work hard to practice what I preach and so I just kept bombarding her with kindness and by the time she was done checking me out, her demeanor had shifted and she told me that she hoped I had a really good day.
We have to go outside our normal reaction, we need to come up higher and really work to bring good into everything we do and every place we go. When you start focusing on this, on how you can be a blessing for other people then your seeming problems will work themselves out. GOD has a special place in his heart for people that bless other people, when you are taking care of others GOD will take care of you.
This is a practice and sometimes you have to force yourself, take me today for instance…it’s been a stressful day and I had to remind myself to sit down and write a post for you guys even though I am feeling blah today…I knew that if I focused on you it would cheer me up and I was right:) See you tomorrow…xoxo
I have been studying Prosperity Principles since I was 12 years old and given the time of year I thought a quick lesson on generosity was in order. Yesterday I was telling you that St. John of the Cross says that “a generous heart will never go part way”. So today I thought we would continue to talk about what true generosity is…understanding generosity as a principle will help you realize that it isn’t just about buying things, it is about so much more than that…
When you practice generosity you understand that there is an endless supply of everything that is required and that if you give some of ‘yours’ away it will be given back to you. No lack was ever created by giving, poverty never stems from generosity. Anne Frank said, “No one has ever become poor by giving.”
Poverty and lack are stimulated by a belief that there is a limited supply and this belief helps people to be selfish and hold on to what is ‘theirs’. GOD bestowed upon us an unending supply of substance which is manifested by the spirit of generosity.
What if everything you ‘had’ wasn’t really yours anyway, what if God gave it to you so that you could be generous with it and when you did that He would give you more? If you understood that as a truth how much would it change the way you act in your daily life? If someone asked you for a ride or for five dollars and you knew that if you gave it to them then God would see it multiplied back to you… would you then be more willing to give it?
Practicing generosity requires us to understand that we have been blessed with ABUNDANT supply, available to us by simply asking the Divine to send it and then having certainty that it will come.
Nobody ever became poor from giving; people have become poor by living in fear that there is a limited supply of money, work, good etc. When our willingness to give dries up from fear then we actually BLOCK our Divine Supply from being able to reach us. Generosity and the practice of it help to keep the Divine pipeline moving in a positive direction. Be generous today with whatever you have to give…time, attention, money, actions…A generous heart is a happy heart. See you tomorrow…xoxoxo
