Conquering Pride

Conquering Pride…

Hey everyone! I think I can say that it has been a long month, and that things have been crazy would be an understatement.  I think we all had our own personal battles throughout this last mercury retrograde, things slowed way down, energies were depleted and things were turned on their heads.

When Retrograde hit us this hard its to make us slow down, but not to smell the flowers. We need to inventory on ourselves and what we are putting our energies into. I realized  that my pride was holding me back from letting go of a business venture that was no longer serving me.

I was apart of an MLM and this MLM has amazing products, that i just adore, and helped me regain my self confidence to really start pursuing my dreams ( and I do have multiple that I am actively pursuing). The capital gain potential for me isn’t there with this company, I poured my time, effort, and money into building this mlm as my business, and even though I was losing money I was refusing to give it up because I didn’t want to feel like a failure. So I had to face my pride and take off the rose colored glasses and face things for what they were. That business helped me grow but it’s no longer a fruitful path nor is it serving me anymore, infact its starting to hold me back.

Pride is one of the hardest things to over come sometimes, especially gracefully. I hope everyone was able to take this slow down as a time to take a hard look at their lives and do some trimming (Spring cleaning) of the things that are no longer serving them. When we ignore these things it hinders growth.

I am challenging myself to keep growing everyday, I refuse to be stagnant. I strive to be the best version of me and i wish all the same joy upon all of you.

Always be unapologetically true to yourself,

Ali

Choose Your Battles

Choose Your Battles
Choose your battles. Have any of you heard this before? This is by far the best advice I have ever received. It came from my mama! She has said it so many times to me that I am finally starting to see exactly what she meant.
I am learning to choose mine. Your 3-year-old wearing 2 shirts with one of them on backwards is not a battle worth fighting. He is dressed, he is clean, and he is happy (for the moment)! Hearing the two older kids argue about what song they want to listen to on the radio on the way to school is not a battle worth fighting. We will not listen to the radio at all! Trying to make someone understand your feelings when all they do is mock them is not a battle worth fighting.
Your feelings are valid. They are real.
Responding to negative posts about you that are posted on social media is not a battle worth fighting.
We don’t always have to win. We don’t always have to have the last word…as hard as it may be!
Let me tell you what battles are worth fighting. Fighting for what is right. Fighting for a happy life after living in a marriage that only brought you pain and frustration. Fighting for yourself and your children because no one is going to do it for you. Fighting to make sure that your children have the life they deserve even though that life isn’t what you planned. Fighting to look at the good instead of the bad! That is a tough one! These are the battles that really matter!
It is so easy to get caught up in the little conflicts that occur daily. It is so easy to focus on them and then lose sight of the bigger battles. I still focus on the wrong battles sometimes. I am only human! Putting my energy into the battles that really matter though has made a huge difference!
So choose your battles wisely friends!

Truth And Owning Yours

Today let’s talk about owning your truth…owning ALL of the things that you have been and that you are…there is a power that comes from owning that shit and that kind of power cannot be gotten any other way.  We all have parts of ourselves that we would rather not ‘own’, times we did things that we are not proud of, behaviors that we wore for a while when we didn’t know any better, actions we took when we didn’t see any other way.  Some of us will call these things the darker part of our story and we shy away from it, it’s the stuff that we try not to call attention to…views of our filthy hearts that we would rather not be seen.  We ALL have this stuff, I don’t care WHO you are or what you would like me to believe about you…every single person has parts we would rather not claim as our own.

Here’s the thing though, OWN THAT SHIT!!!  You cannot evolve into your best self until you are willing to own ALL the creepy, shitty things about yourself that you wish nobody else knew.  The power comes from being authentic and you can only be authentic if you OWN every, single thing about yourself.  So many people are busy trying to get you to ‘buy’ the version of themselves that they wish to present to you and most of their energy floods out to keeping you from knowing the real them…imagine the freedom in simply owning your truth and letting people accept you for who you are.

Walking into Christmas and into the end of the year, it’s a good time to shed the stuff that is no longer serving you…it is time to simply be authentic and own every part of your history so that you can move ahead into the life that you want.  It’s time to shed old ways of being and time to start owning your truth…what an incredible freedom it will bring you.  See you tomorrow.  xoxo

Forgiveness and The True Concept

It occurred to me today  that many people in the world have a hard time with the true concept of forgiveness.  Not only do individual people have problems with forgiveness, countries have issues with it as do political parties.  Many of us feel that our anger, animosity, hatred and bad feelings are JUSTIFIED and God help anyone who tries to tell us otherwise.  Given an opportunity most people will tell you about who did them wrong in life and if you watch closely you will see in the telling of that incident the true story of their lives…

Usually in the re-telling of the bad divorce, the lost election, the abusive childhood, the business deal gone bad, the unexpected death or the ultimate betrayal, a wise person is able to see the sadness and disappointment that reside just beneath the anger.  Anger, sadness, hurt and disappointment held onto over time become vehicles for that which is against life.  The darkness in the world feeds off of these type of emotions and truly that is the only thing that gives life to the darkness.  If people could come to understand that holding onto past hurts is actually stealing their health and vitality perhaps they would learn to LET GO.

That is my working definition of forgiveness, letting go.  My coaching on forgiveness does not involve over-looking or forgetting what has happened—it involves letting it go, so that the incident no longer has any reactive power over you.  When you can maintain your inner equilibrium no matter what befalls you, you will have achieved a level of mastery unknown to most.  You cannot control the behaviors and actions of others; however you can control your reaction to them.  You can decide to be hurt or offended or you can decide not to be—the choice is always yours.  People are doing the best they can for who they are in the moment and mostly they are not even conscious of how their actions affect others—people are pretty self-absorbed.

I suspect that the average person fails to understand the cost of holding onto anger and animosity.  The cost is not just an individual one—not only does holding onto yucky stuff kill your health and vitality it also doesn’t help the collective consciousness of the world.  Don’t be foolish enough to think that the fight you are having with your brother has no effect on what is happening in Iraq or in Israel…energy is collective.  Your hatred of your business partner or the guy who cut you off on the highway or the opposing political party goes forth into the ethers as energy…in this case BAD ENERGY.  Your nasty attitude is not only effecting you, it is effecting all of us….so QUIT IT!

I’m not suggesting that we all run around wearing orange robes giving out flowers—I am, however, suggesting that we all (myself included) begin to take a deeper look at what anger and animosity we might be holding onto and how that is affecting our quality of life.  It is easy to see what righteous anger and hatred is costing other countries (as people are literally dying to be right)—is it as easy to see what it is costing us as individuals?

Being angry takes up a lot of time and energy, it also affects your health and state of mind…

So next time you are feeling really hot under the collar and your blood pressure is rising—ask yourself –is it really worth it?
