Love Is A Powerful Thing

Love is a powerful thing

When you love another, ….do you love full out?

My hope is YES!!!!

Do you spread your heart wider than you thought possible?  Do you go deep within to reveal the power of your love?  Do you trust yourself enough to love at full throttle?

My hope is, YES!!!!

Do you love with no conditions, no guidelines, no presumptions, no expectations?

My hope is YES!!!!

Love is certainly a multidimensional thing.  I love my mother.  I love my son.  I love coffee too, but that’s a different kind.  I’m talking about the kind of love that comes from your heart.  Your open, vulnerable, God-thriving heart.  The place where your sacred self dwells, the place where maybe only a few have tread.  Where the sweet essence of raw, real, true love… lives.

The world is so good at teaching us to be careful, to watch out for the other shoe to drop, to be on your guard, etc etc etc…..  sooooooo in that space of watching and protecting, we wall ourselves off from what may be coming right at us.  Love that’s ready to embrace us, pounce on us and scoop us up.

When we question and doubt the love from another we take the chance of having none.  Look at yourself and see where do you doubt your own?  Where do you deny, give up, sell out on yourself?  Where do you not believe, trust or value your own heart?

When you know…like you know…like you KNOW….. that you are made of love, by love, for love… things will change.  Your life will change.  Your heart will change.  You will send your love out to the world, through your words, through your actions, through your smile.  And love will be all there is.

Judgement Bucket

I wish I could say that I don’t judge, but I do. I have learned to stay aware of my mind and the stinking thinking that comes out of left field at times. I work every day at having love and compassion for others and myself instead of judgement and ridicule. But still….

Did you know that judgement comes from an unhappy heart, an unlovingofself and has roots of jealousy, envy and pride? That’s tough to swallow!! Judging others often times, bring the judger a sense of satisfaction….a sense of knowing more. Judgement is full of comparison & unacceptance. Its pompous and its demeaning to the person being judged because they are not being accepted exactly as they are. Ouch, right?

Imagine showing up at a gathering, you’ve had an awful week; emotionally, mentally and physically & you really don’t want to go, but you promised. So you do your best to get yourself ready & out the door you go. Would you rather be greeted with “Thank you so much for coming, I’m so happy you’re here, what can I get for you?” or with “Wow, you look like shit, what happened to you?” Wait wait wait!!! You KNOW you FEEL awful, ..remember,,,you didn’t want to come…. AND you certainly don’t need anyone telling you.

So the next time you’re about to open your mouth and be all judgey, stop and think about the effect it will have, your motivation behind your thoughts and bring compassion instead.

The one thing I’m not sure people realize…. at the root of judgement of others….we judge ourselves. We have not accepted everything ugly, or upsetting, or unfortunate, or whatever THAT is about us…….so we judge others.

Start to NOT judge, by looking in the mirror and accepting all of YOU.

….and may today be the day, that you empty the bucket of judgment with your name on it.

Perfectly, IMPERFECT…

Perfectly, Imperfect….We all have days that don’t go as planned, days that we had all planned out in our minds with a million things to do and then BAM—everything goes to shit in seconds.  It is on those days that we are truly tested, do we fall to pieces and let the day be ruined or do we RISE to the occasion and starting improvising??

Yesterday and today have been like that for me, I had TO DO LISTS, I had a PLAN and then I woke up with this seeming cold and my son’s car was making a noise that required investigation, phone calls and then a trip to the dealership to be fixed.  This cold nonsense turned my TO DO List to shit yesterday and today I have just been trying to play catch-up plus deal with normal Monday morning stuff.  This morning I made a decision that I was just going to go with the flow and do the best I could to get accomplished what was imperative.  Got the kids car fixed, got to the bank, got to the post office, had calls with clients etc—NONE of it occurred in the order that I wanted it to, NONE of the house stuff that needed to be done got done…it kind of looks like a HERD of elephants ran all through the house throwing things…oh well…

Some days are like this, they are perfectly imperfect and you can either resist that process and live the day completely pissed off and stressed out OR you can simply accept that it is OK to deviate from the plan, it’s OK to falter and fail at your mission…the world will not end if all the laundry doesn’t get done, or your desk doesn’t get cleaned or the boxes from amazon are still unpacked in the front hall…it’s OK not to be perfect.  It’s ok to feel screwed up, to feel a mess, to feel like nothing is getting done.  ALL of these feelings are part of the process of living a REAL life, we have to accept the perfect days as well as the perfectly –imperfect ones.  Our true light shines through the cracked places—it is OK and you are making it work, so stop judging yourself and embrace the day however it is.

Truth And Owning Yours

Today let’s talk about owning your truth…owning ALL of the things that you have been and that you are…there is a power that comes from owning that shit and that kind of power cannot be gotten any other way.  We all have parts of ourselves that we would rather not ‘own’, times we did things that we are not proud of, behaviors that we wore for a while when we didn’t know any better, actions we took when we didn’t see any other way.  Some of us will call these things the darker part of our story and we shy away from it, it’s the stuff that we try not to call attention to…views of our filthy hearts that we would rather not be seen.  We ALL have this stuff, I don’t care WHO you are or what you would like me to believe about you…every single person has parts we would rather not claim as our own.

Here’s the thing though, OWN THAT SHIT!!!  You cannot evolve into your best self until you are willing to own ALL the creepy, shitty things about yourself that you wish nobody else knew.  The power comes from being authentic and you can only be authentic if you OWN every, single thing about yourself.  So many people are busy trying to get you to ‘buy’ the version of themselves that they wish to present to you and most of their energy floods out to keeping you from knowing the real them…imagine the freedom in simply owning your truth and letting people accept you for who you are.

Walking into Christmas and into the end of the year, it’s a good time to shed the stuff that is no longer serving you…it is time to simply be authentic and own every part of your history so that you can move ahead into the life that you want.  It’s time to shed old ways of being and time to start owning your truth…what an incredible freedom it will bring you.  See you tomorrow.  xoxo
